This is just NOT a good look on me. The color rose gold R is a beautiful color. Perhaps it is too long for my face shape. Also it is flatter than I like .
the front on the right has an odd section of hair that is totally straight and feels rather stiff. No amount of washing and conditioning helps it.
It is also a bit too rounded in shape for my face.
Others may love it. Think the piece of stiff hair in front is a defect, that will not be present in other Rae units.
Beautiful color but odd in front

This is my second Rene of Paris wig in Rose Gold R. It is a beautiful color with no red tone at the root. Upon arrival, I felt that it looked wiggy, so I used dry shampoo to take out the shine. The wig required some playing with to achieve the volume that I need at the crown, as this wig has very little visible permatease. I felt there was just too much hair on the sides and the nape was a bit long for my taste. After washing it, it came out to more of a scrunchy look, which is what I was wanting to begin with. For a little extra lift, I spritz synthetic wig hairspray on my fingertips and swirl my fingers at the base of the crown. I like it much better after a wash! It is stretchy and comfortable. Although I do like it, it is not my go-to style because it requires a little work and is not a plop-on-and-go type of style. I feel 'artsy' in Rae, as I do not like tamed hair. Out of the box it is very smooth, which I do not like. If you like a smoother look, you might like this one without additional styling.
Nice wig but not a go to

After watching and reading reviews of this wig I was all pumped up to order, and the colour melted marshmallow was also so very hyped up, I was giddy with anticipation. The wig looked truly hideous and wiggy, and the colour was not natural looking at all which made it even worse. Was not prepared to risk fingering with it or anything to try recoup some hope.
Big let down

I really love Rae's relaxed style - not too long, and with asymmetrical waves at the front. I haven't seen another wig that captures this look, which is super cute and quite popular in my community. The colour Mochaccino-LR is beautifully done in terms of the very realistic integration of blond strands near the bottom in a brown base. I wear Rae a lot, and find her wonderfully versatile (from weddings to super casual movie chilling on the couches of friends).
I do have a few issues to flag about this wig. First, the mono part is really wide, so if you didn't have any bio hair, that might be a problem. For me it works out okay as my bio hair shows through just enough underneath that the part doesn't look huge. Typically I put masking tape under the mono part of any wig to make it more noticeable, but I can't do that with Rae - the part is just way too wide. Another issue is that the monofilament area is quite shiny, so that it almost looks like I'm perspiring if you look closely. Two design flaws, at least in the particular wig I own. Lastly, I'll second the other reviewer who noted that the rooted colour on Rae has a red tinge - in my case I would even say burgundy, kind of purplish-red, which is a neat salon colour but not something that would grow out of anyone's head. I've found this to be an issue with Zuma in Crimson-LR as well. In my opinion rooted colours should look like they have grown from a human scalp.
A go-to wig for me

Oh, Rae. When I first put her on, I got strangely emotional. It felt like I had my old bio hair back. My hair was curly and wavy and quirky, and when I tried to calm it down, it ended up looking rather like Rae, with her curls and waves and air of being game for anything. This is a sweet, easy to wear, casual, fun wig. I have far more expensive wigs than Rae, but I never want to take her off.
The only problem for me is that I got her in Melted Marshmallow, and I don't like the color. I did plenty of online research before getting her, and from the images and videos I saw, it looked like Melted Marshmallow had a darkish-brown root, followed by beige-ish blonde and then platinum at the tips. Well, on the one I received, the root is red. RED. And the blonde is strawberry blonde and caramel-blonde. Only the platinum tips are as expected. I scoured the internet and found only one or two other reviews that referred to this red root. So maybe the color really varies from wig to wig. Or maybe most people don't mind the auburn effect of this color. I don't like it--doesn't go well with my skin tone--but I adore the wig so much I kept it. I have it on right now. I'm never taking it off! But I do plan to get it on another color. :)
I love this wig!
